For the first time in three years, VMware Explore brought together the VMware community in the U.S. and Europe, plus regional events in Brazil, Singapore, and Japan. These events around the world featured Executive Summits, where we hosted senior-level customers for a day of insightful and thought-provoking CXO conversations. After several years of working and networking remotely, the ability to connect in person and compare the state of the industry was welcomed by all. It was an incredible opportunity for us and our customers to create connections that extend beyond technology.
My favorite part was the opportunity to meet with customers to drill down into real-world challenges and celebrate wins together. There is simply no substitute for meeting in person; the energy was palpable and the takeaways, priceless.
At our VMware Explore U.S. and Europe flagship Executive Summit programs, we hosted interactive polling to get a real-time glimpse into what matters most to leaders – their top challenges now and their expectations for the future. It was fascinating after the past few years to see how different technology leaders from various industries around the world are experiencing similar opportunities and challenges as they prepare for 2023.
Business executives are facing similar pressures from across their organizations, compounded by world factors like an uncertain economy, an unprecedented job market, and escalating political tensions. All of this means we need to be prepared as we continue to recover from a pandemic and prepare for the upcoming macro business climate. At VMware’s Executive Summit, C-suite leaders shared best practices and plans to mitigate uncertainty, increase resilience, and help teams flourish amid flux.
Unique working sessions were also held with small groups at the U.S. and Europe events, where attendees sat down with peers and subject matter experts to share challenges and solutions. One of the key themes that surfaced during the discussions was the need to grow the connection between IT and the business to achieve a true solutions-oriented technology effort. In addition, the skills gap bubbled up as a big part of the conversations at our Executive Summits worldwide.
