Chris leads the Research and Innovation organization in the VMware Office of the CTO. The team drives ahead-of-roadmap invention and co-innovation while ensuring technology transfers to VMware’s R&D business units on a continual basis. In addition, the team is highly active in open source communities, partners across industries, and academic institutions in pursuit of groundbreaking research, and continuously calibrates its assumptions and direction in partnership with VMware customers and technology partners. Chris has led technology teams for the past 25 years in software, education, and research, starting his journey in the US Marine Corps.
